The Ultimate Nourishing Face Ritual

The Ultimate Nourishing Face Ritual

Ah the holidays: dashing through the snow… from one party to the next, a sudden influx of sugar cookies everywhere you turn, and the rush to get all of your shopping and prep done ahead of schedule (or trying to!). It might seem impossible at this time of the year to maintain a healthy, hydrating skincare routine and to carve out a little self-care time. So we’ve figured it out for you. Turn your skincare routine into a Nourishing Face Ritual. Once a week, for 30 minutes, put aside a little time for yourself to indulge in this pampering ritual featuring our regenerative, moisturizing powerhouse trio: Facial Cleansing Oil, Brightening Face Mask and Frankincense Argan Lotion.

We picked these three from our all-natural collection as they work together synergistically. How do they do this? Let’s turn a spotlight onto some of the ingredients you’ll find in the ritual:

Turmeric: There are many skin-boosting benefits of this bright yellow spice from India. It can help reduce inflammation in your skin and soothe symptoms like redness, itchiness or blemishes. This antioxidant-rich oil is also wonderful at calming eczema which can be aggravated in cooler weather or in times of stress (aka, the holidays). It’s found in both our Facial Cleansing Oil and Brightening Face Mask.

Tamanu Oil: We love this rich, deep green oil from Madagascar. It’s excellent at healing the skin and can help prevent or reduce breakouts. It’s also found in both our Facial Cleansing Oil and Brightening Face Mask.

Frankincense: This anti-aging ingredient comes from the resin of the Boswellia tree. It’s wonderful at reducing signs of aging while balancing moisture. It’s found in our rich Frankincense Argan Lotion.

Pineapple: Not just a sweet tropical treat, this fruit contains an exfoliating enzyme called bromelain that works to slough off dead skin cells while softening the skin. (In our humble opinion it’s better off on our skin than in that infamous holiday staple, the fruit cake).

The Nourishing Face Ritual

Step 1. Make time - find a moment in your schedule where you can have 30 minutes to yourself, uninterrupted.

Step 2. Prepare your space - light your favourite candle in a relaxing scent (plug LOT Home candles?) and gather all the things you’ll need for your ritual, like a magazine or journal and a cup of something warm and comforting to sip on.

Step 3. Cleanse your skin by massaging a dropper-full of Facial Cleansing Oil into your face for 1 minute. Gently remove excess oil or debris with a warm face cloth. Use daily.

Step 4. Apply a thin layer of Brightening Face Mask to skin. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes. Our mask is active and may induce a tingle!

Step 5. Gently remove the mask with a steamy, warm face cloth. This part of your ritual can be done one to two times a week.

Step 6. Pat your skin dry and apply Frankincense Argan Lotion. This can be used morning and night on the face, as well as on hands and body.

Step 7: Stare down winter and the holidays confidently with a pampered, radiant face.

This ritual is designed to be done once or twice a week, but the Facial Cleansing Oil and Frankincense Argan Lotion should be used daily to maintain a happy and hydrated complexion. We hope that we’ve helped you find a little peace and ease this holiday so that you can keep spreading the cheer.
